John, send him a note.

The president’s executive orders marshaled his entire administration to tackle our climate crisis. Send him a thank you note, John »

John,

Yesterday was the biggest day for federal climate action in American history.

President Biden wasted no time putting his whole government to work saving our planet and putting science and environmental justice at the center of domestic and foreign policy.

Only a week into his term, he signed a series of executive orders that will save lives, create jobs, and transform communities.

We elected him to do just this. He’s listening. Now let’s thank him for going to bat for our families! »

Among other things, these orders will:

  • Pause oil and gas drilling on federal lands and waters

  • Eliminate fossil fuel subsidies

  • Protect 30% of our land and water by 2030

  • Make federal buildings and vehicles zero-emission

  • Mandate that 40% of federal climate and clean energy investments benefit environmental justice communities

  • Prioritize science and data, climate impacts, and environmental justice when making domestic and foreign policy

  • Establish a task force to help communities transition from fossil fuel jobs

  • Create a civilian climate corps

We have so much work to do with Congress, here in North Carolina, and across the globe. But this is a great start, and we should let our president know we appreciate his bold, decisive leadership!
