John, we need your help right now.
In August, 31 people were murdered and 51 more injured in Dayton and El Paso – all while the Senate was on vacation, refusing to take action and pass universal background checks to save lives.
Just a few weeks later, seven people were murdered and 25 more injured in West Texas, where the shooter took advantage of a loophole in the system to buy a rifle after failing a background check.
Now, the Senate is about to leave Washington again without taking a vote on the universal background checks bill that has been sitting with senators since February.
It’s absolutely despicable. People’s lives are at stake, and we can’t afford to wait another day – much less another month.
That’s why we’re gathering 25,000 signatures before the legislative session ends tomorrow to send a strong message to the Senate and urge our senators to finally take action. We’re running out of time – so please, can I count on you to sign our petition now?
We’re so close to passing this historic, lifesaving legislation into law – more than 97% of Americans support it, and it’s already passed the House. With your help, I know we can pressure the Senate to finally take much-needed action and save lives.
Thanks for all that you do,
Lauren Alfred Levin
