Hi there,
Marco Rubio is calling Trump's second impeachment trial "stupid." Rand Paul still refuses to say that the election was not stolen. Senator Mike Rounds claims that impeaching Trump is a "moot point" since he's already out of office. And Tom Cotton thinks that holding a trial after a president has left office is unconstitutional, telling Fox News, "the more I talk to other Republican senators, the more they're beginning to line up behind the position I announced."
We haven't forgotten how Trump incited an armed mob to storm the Capitol and steal a legitimate election, so we're certain Republicans in the Senate haven't either. But they're grasping at straws for excuses not to support impeachment -- because they know they're complicit in these lies about election fraud as well.
Excusing Trump's violent mob is almost as bad as inciting it. We support holding ANYONE who played a role in this assault on our country accountable. We need to make sure our most ardent supporters are with us. Please, let us know:
Should Republican senators be held accountable?
