Thanks to the disastrous Citizens United ruling by the Supreme Court in 2010, corporations are allowed to sink unlimited amounts of money - often anonymously - into our political system. For more than a decade, wealthy corporations and special interests, the fanatics of false trickle-down agendas, have used their massive sums of money to influence our government to their own benefit.

Fortunately, however, we can still influence those corporate donors we do know about by threatening what they care about most: their profits.

In the aftermath of the insurrection on Jan. 6, corporations felt immense pressure to stop donating to the 147 members of Congress who helped incite the mob with their misinformation campaign about the 2020 election. Many did cut off their support. There are those, like CVS, Delta, and Lowe's, however, who are "still reviewing" their contribution policies. We need to keep the pressure on them so that they do the right thing: stop their funding for insurrectionist lawmakers, if not their political giving programs altogether.

That's why we have joined this petition calling for a permanent end to corporate and super PAC giving to the 147 insurrectionists and for corporations to support the For the People Act. This legislation will overhaul money in politics for the better.

We need supporters like you to speak out loudly alongside us and urge corporations to do the bare minimum. Sign the petition now to call on corporate funders to stop donations to the lawmakers who trampled over the Constitution, and urge these corporations to instead support the For the People Act.
