If you live in these states, you might have!

John,

You would think that with everything going on – the national pandemic, a hyper-divided country and the looming financial crisis – that some state legislators would take a break from attacking the LGBTQ community. But despite the many issues facing our nation, bigots around the country found the time to propose anti-equality legislation in the first few weeks of this year. They made a special effort to attack the trans community, with many pieces of legislation targeting trans children.

If you agree that state legislators who waste time and tax-payer money on useless anti-trans bills must be defeated, help power Victory Fund’s work with a donation today!

Instead of passing legislation that would prevent a recession or protect essential workers, here’s what some lawmakers (and we use that term loosely) are focused on:

Another bill in North Dakota attempted to make anything that advances “acts of licentiousness” illegal, including issuing or recognizing marriage licenses issued to LGBTQ couples, flying any pride flag, hosting drag queen story time, trans athletes playing sports, permitting trans people to change their gender information on government documents, using public funds to cover gender reassignment surgery, mandating pronoun changes, or exposing students and children to pro-LGBTQ education and more. The one thing this bill did protect? Conversion therapy. Fortunately it was just withdrawn, but we know others like it are coming soon.

Look, these bigots clearly won’t go away without a fight. And Victory Fund is ready to give them one. Power our work to boost sensible LGBTQ candidates and defeat bigots like these today!

Thanks again,

LGBTQ Victory Fund
