FOR A SCHOOL FOOD PROGRAM FOR CANADA

It’s probably too late to wish you a happy new year, but we still want to
send good wishes your way for 2021. Hope it’s on a good start! In the
upcoming weeks, the Coalition will be sending the message that IT'S TIME
FOR A NATIONAL SCHOOL FOOD PROGRAM to the federal government through the
pre-budget consultations, and hope you can help us amplify the message. We
are also preparing lots of fun things for the 2021 Great Big Crunch!

JOIN US AND TAKE PART IN THE PRE-BUDGET 2CONSULTATIONS

HELP US TELL THE GOVERNMENT OF CANADA THAT IT'S TIME TO INCLUDE A NATIONAL
SCHOOL FOOD PROGRAM IN #BUDGET2021

BEFORE FEBRUARY 17, 2021, let the federal government know that Covid-19 has
demonstrated that school food programs are an essential service, and that
now is the time to design and launch a National School Food Program.

Members, endorsers and supporters of the Coalition for Healthy School Food
have a chance to amplify our voice by sending hundreds of messages to the
Finance Committee.

1. Click here [5] to go to the government's Pre-budget 2021 consultations
webpage.

2. Add the name of your organization or your own name.

3. Upload the Coalition's Pre-Budget 2021 Submission [6] (PDF).

4. Share with your network and friends, and ask them to add their voice
(Facebook [7] or Twitter [8]).

5. OPTIONAL: Share your views and fill out the budget questionnaire [9].
Each question provides an opportunity to suggest other investments, and you
could add “Invest in a universal, cost-shared healthy school food
program.”

SCHOOL FOOD PROGRAM FOR CANADA

Although the Great Big Crunch might look different as crunching together
may not be possible, we are excited to hear your LOUD CRUNCHES across
Canada to celebrate healthy school food!

* VIRTUAL GBC: On March 11, 2021 @ 2:30 pm ET, join us for a virtual
Great Big Crunch as we make noise to support school food programs.
Alternatively, you can crunch any time you'd like in March at your school,
office, home, or online. Let us know when you plan to crunch by registering

* TOOLKIT FOR PARENTS AND EDUCATORS: Keep an eye out for our upcoming
toolkit, complete with activities for students and children.

Food Program for Canada.

THE COALITION IS HIRING A COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR

The Coalition for Healthy School Food is seeking a creative and experienced
Communications Coordinator to support the Coalition in communicating its
mission and promoting its members’ work by engaging diverse audiences
through a variety of platforms. This includes management and content
creation for the website, social media, public campaigns, meetings,
infographics and communication materials in both French and English. This
position is for a one year, full-time contract, for a salary of $44,800
plus benefits.

BC VIRTUAL GATHERING FEBRUARY 2, 2021

Next Tuesday, the BC Chapter is hosting an online network gathering. This
event is intended for school food program practitioners, teachers, parents,
and other members, endorsers and supporters of the BC Chapter of the
Coalition for Healthy School Food.

Nous espérons que l'année a bien commencée ! Dans les semaines à venir,
la Coalition enverra le message qu'IL EST TEMPS DE METTRE EN PLACE UN
PROGRAMME NATIONAL D'ALIMENTATION SCOLAIRE au gouvernement fédéral par le
biais des consultations prébudgétaires, et espère que vous pourrez nous

AVANT LE 17 FÉVRIER 2021, faites savoir au gouvernement fédéral que la
Covid-19 a démontrée que les programmes d'alimentation scolaire sont un
service essentiel et que le moment est venu de concevoir et de mettre en
oeuvre un Programme national d'alimentation scolaire pour le Canada.

Les membres, les collaborateurs et les défenseurs de la Coalition pour
une saine alimentation scolaire ont la possibilité d'amplifier notre voix
en envoyant des centaines de messages au Comité des finances.

2. Inscrivez le nom de votre organisation ou votre nom personnel.

3. Téléchargez la soumission prébudgétaire [20] de la Coalition pour

4. Partagez avec votre réseau et vos amis et demandez-leur de participer

peut-être pas possible de croquer ensemble, nous serons ravis d'entendre
vos CROQUÉES BRUYANTES à travers le Canada pour célébrer la saine
alimentation à l'école !

joignez-vous à nous pour une Grande croquée virtuelle alors que nous
ferons du bruit pour soutenir les programmes d'alimentation scolaire. Vous

RASSEMBLEMENT VIRTUEL DE LA CB LE 2 FÉVRIER, 2021
