We did it, team!

The SAFE Banking Act PASSED the House yesterday, a huge bipartisan win! Thanks to your vocal support of my legislation, we’re one step closer to ending the public safety risk of forcing legitimate marijuana businesses to operate on a cash-only basis.

Now, we must send a clear message to the Senate to make sure they vote YES on this legislation. I need 10,000 signatures before midnight — will you add yours now?

Marijuana industry sales nationwide are expected to reach $23 billion by 2022, but the safety of thousands of businesses, their employees and law enforcement officers is at risk due to our current cash-only system. It’s time to respect the will of the voters in 47 states plus the District of Columbia who have legalized some form of marijuana use.

At a time when Congress and many Americans are rigidly divided along party lines, my bill to provide certainty for financial institutions serving legal and legitimate marijuana businesses has gained tremendous bipartisan support. Passing this important legislation in the House is a major bipartisan accomplishment, but I need your help to get it through the next stage.
