Trust for Public Land
John,

As you get to know more about The Trust for Public Land, we hope you’re enjoying learning about the work you can support and the benefits you can have as a member.

Our annual membership card is a special benefit that our members enjoy — and participate in designing! Every year, members and supporters vote online to help us select a new photo for this card, which recognizes how much we rely on their support of our work to create parks and land for people.

For 2021, supporters like you selected a beautiful photo of our work featuring Katahdin Lake in Maine. John, when you make your first gift to The Trust for Public Land today, we’ll send you this beautiful membership card to thank you for helping us create beautiful parks and green spaces — and protect beautiful public lands, national monuments, plains, forests, and seashores all across the country.

With its old growth forests and dramatic vistas, Katahdin Lake had been coveted by conservationists since at least 1921. Yet for generations, this pristine and scenic Lake eluded all conservation efforts. When it finally became part of Baxter State Park, ongoing support from our members helped The Trust for Public Land spring into action. We brought together local and state partners to negotiate a complex transaction — and raised $14 million — to protect the Lake and the surrounding landscape for anglers, paddlers, hikers, artists, and nature lovers to enjoy for generations to come.

The success story of Katahdin Lake could never have been written without support from members and supporters like you. Yet it’s just one example of the more than 3.7 million acres of land protected and put into public ownership and more than 5,400 park and conservation projects completed by The Trust for Public Land since 1972, thanks to friends like you.

Will you make a membership gift today to help us reach our goal to conserve one million acres of land, protect 1,000 miles of rivers, and build 1,000 miles of trails across America by 2025?

Sincerely,
Kim Elliot Signature

P.S. We hope this photo of Maine’s Katahdin Lake will inspire you to make a membership gift to The Trust for Public Land for 2021 and support our work to create parks and protect public lands for people. Thank you!
