Dear John,

Just a short follow-up to my last email to let you know that litigation modeled on the NhRP’s has finally freed an orangutan named Sandra from an Argentine zoo to a sanctuary. The judge in the case said of her decision: “I wanted to tell society something new, that animals are sentient beings and that the first right they have is our obligation to respect them.” Learn more here, and stay tuned for a new section of our website that will analyze this decision and others worldwide that are important to the nonhuman animal rights movement.

Thank you!
