Let’s be clear: Donald Trump’s actions directly led to the violent attack on our lawmakers on January 6. He has blood on his hands and he must face consequences for his actions — being voted out of office is not enough. Our nation will not be protected from more armed attacks if we do not act decisively against them, John.
Congress has voted to impeach Donald Trump in the most bipartisan impeachment vote in history. This isn’t about what side of the aisle our lawmakers are on, it is about the fate of American democracy. It is time for our lawmakers to follow the Brady motto and “take action, not sides.”

Trump’s violent rhetoric and support of white nationalists and armed vigilantism directly led to violence against lawmakers in Washington, D.C., on January 6th. Rioters had planned to assassinate lawmakers, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Vice President Mike Pence.
