Dear Friends,
We have lots of events for you in the coming weeks:
Tuesday, Feb 2nd, 1pm ET – NDN Talks Strongmen With Ruth Ben-Ghiat – NDN is excited to host a discussion with noted author, historian and television commentator Ruth Ben-Ghiat for a discussion about her new book, “Strongmen,” and America’s current struggle with authoritarianism. You can register for the event here, and learn more and order her acclaimed new book here.
A quick hit on Strongmen from Professor Ben-Ghiat’s site – “Ruth Ben-Ghiat is the expert on the "strongman" playbook employed by authoritarian demagogues from Mussolini to Putin—enabling her to predict with uncanny accuracy the recent experience in America. In Strongmen, she lays bare the blueprint these leaders have followed over the past 100 years, and empowers us to recognize, resist, and prevent their disastrous rule in the future.” We have learned much from Professor Ben-Ghiat in recent months, and are excited to bring her to you.
With Dems Fridays at 2pm ET - – NDN's new signature presentation, "With Dems" is a deep dive into the performance of the two political parties over the past generation of American politics. We believe the insights in With Dems are essential to understanding our current moment, and the possibilities the new Biden Presidency may bring.
We have scheduled weekly showings each Friday at 2pm ET in January and February. You can sign up for our presentation this Friday, or those in February, here.
Learn more about the big arguments behind With Dems, do read Mike Tomasky’s glowing review in the Daily Beast and feel to watch a recording of a recent With Dems presentation from Wed, Dec 23rd.
We hope to see you at one of these upcoming events, and feel free to invite others. All are welcome!
Onward,
Team NDN
