Dear John,

I’m going to keep this short. The climate movement is speeding up and there’s barely time to write this alert. As Greta Thunberg reminded Congress and the United Nations last week: We are at the beginning of a mass extinction crisis on planet Earth thanks to climate change. So it’s time to accelerate our movement and get really bold.

Which is why the CCAN Action Fund was honored to join our friends at Extinction Rebellion and other groups on Monday for the “Shut Down DC” event. And, now, here are three things you can do to stay informed and stay active:

1: Watch this video of our peaceful human blockade Monday on Independence Avenue NW in DC. This video will inspire you. Watch it!

2: Donate $11 to CCAN Action Fund right now — one dollar for every year we have left to solve the climate crisis — so we can keep amplifying Greta Thunberg’s message and accelerate the clean energy revolution in Maryland, Virginia and DC.

3: Join us tomorrow morning, Friday, at 7:00am, for a culminating march in DC to mark the end of the historic “Climate Strike Week” worldwide.
