Friend,
When Biden was running for president, we took direct action to demand he halt deportations during his first 100 days in office. Last week, his administration acted on our demands by issuing a 100-day moratorium on most (but not all) deportations. This victory was due to this team's dedication to achieving justice for all immigrants. But this week, after Republicans attacked the moratorium and called for its end, a judge in Texas intervened and put a temporary hold on Biden’s 100-day moratorium on deportations.
Friend, we knew that undoing Trump’s hateful immigration policies was not going to happen overnight and that’s why we’re doubling down on the organizing efforts that we know work.
In light of this small setback we have to ask: will you make a donation to UWDA today to help us respond to this latest attack against our people? Any amount helps us prepare for this battle and the many ahead of us as we fight for permanent protections for immigrants and undocumented people.
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
Last week we celebrated our success of securing the 100 day moratorium and claimed the victory we had fought so hard for. Today we are reminded that we have a lot more work ahead of us. Now is the time to do what we do best — caring for each other, taking our fights to Congress and state legislators, uplifting each other’s voices, and sharing our stories, investing in our community and movement that’s brought us so far already.
Fighting for and winning permanent protections for our people and finally achieving a pathway to citizenship for 11 million undocumented immigrants will take all of us. Our campaigns rely on emails just like this to raise the funds we need to organize our way to justice. Thanks for making a donation of whatever you can spare to fuel the next phase of our fight.
