With January coming to an end, 2021 is proving itself to be just as much of a challenge as its predecessor. But through it all, our movement remains steadfast in our fight to bring long-lasting change to our communities.
While Jamaal is hard at work in Congress, it's important to remember that our work has now just begun. We have some big fights and even bigger plans to come in the upcoming months, and it's up to us to make sure we have the support to see it through.
As a representative for New York's 16th District, Jamaal has chosen to focus on legislating and leading our movement for transformative change in our government and communities, rather than spending hours each week calling donors for big checks to finance his re-election.
But in order for him to keep this up, we need to hit our fundraising goals like this one. And if our movement doesn't have the funding it needs to continue pushing forward, we could be vulnerable to attacks from Republicans, the establishment, and — potentially — a challenger.
That's where you come in, John. Supporters like you have shown us that our people-powered movement is strong enough to move mountains. Now it's time to ramp up our progress to the next level and protect what we've worked so hard for.
