John,
When a dog named Oscar was left outside in 20-degree weather in Baltimore, Maryland, his owner, Selvin Gnanakkan, claimed Oscar died of old age. But with support from our donors, the Animal Legal Defense Fund was able to fund forensic work that proved Oscar suffered and died of hypothermia — a victim of Gnanakkan’s criminal neglect.
This crucial forensic evidence was used to successfully prosecute Gnanakkan, which included a three-year ban on possessing animals. The Baltimore County District Attorney’s office came to us specifically for help, and said that without our assistance, Oscar’s case could not have been pursued. That is the power of your support, and it’s why I’m asking for your help now.
Contributions from compassionate donors like you helped ensure that Gnanakkan answered for Oscar’s death. Your gift now will help us answer calls for help, fight to hold animal abusers accountable for their crimes, and work with local law enforcement and prosecutors to get other neglected and abused animals the justice they deserve this winter and beyond. |
|
So please make an emergency contribution to the Animal Legal Defense Fund today. Every winter, dogs are left in the freezing cold — and their time is running out. |
For the animals,
|
