Team —
The U.S. imprisons people at a higher rate than any other country in the world — and our systems of policing, prosecution, and sentencing disproportionately impact communities of color.
The Washington Senate is tackling critically important issues regarding our criminal justice system this legislative session with over 10 criminal justice bills in the works — ranging from oversight and accountability measures for peace officers to enhancing public trust in law enforcement. This year, our senators have made a commitment to prioritize advancing comprehensive criminal justice reform.
Do you agree that Washington is setting a positive example on criminal justice reform to guide the rest of the country?
Reimagining the role of our law enforcement, the ways they are trained and hired, and the accountability system they operate under will have positive impacts for our communities and will set an example for the national level.
Washington has historically been at the forefront of criminal justice reform, and this session will be no different.
The Washington Senate is taking big, bold action on criminal justice reform and they want to hear from you. Do you agree that Washington is setting a positive example on criminal justice reform?
