We're just days into the Biden administration, and Dr. Fauci is already celebrating the “liberating feeling” of being able to “get up here and talk about what you know -- what the evidence, what the science is -- and know that's it, let the science speak.”
But that doesn't mean that the GOP is pleased with Fauci being able to better address the pandemic -- in fact, their attacks on his character and knowledge have already filled the disinformation vacuum that Trump left behind. Freshman Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene continues to blast Fauci to her hundreds of thousands of Twitter followers. And that's just one of many in the GOP who refuse to let our country heal from COVID-19.
In many ways, the damage has already been done: Hundreds of thousands of Americans are dead because of GOP lies, and Republicans in Congress are STILL smearing Fauci's good name.
But if Dr. Fauci isn't giving up, then neither can we.
