Dear,

Insurrectionists who rioted at the U.S. Capitol on January 6 have appeared
in court, and they have been clear: they believed they were doing the
bidding of Donald Trump and the members of Congress who called on them to
help overturn the election.(1)

But so far, there have been no consequences for Republicans who incited
the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. The Seditious Seven California
representatives who helped stoke Trump's flame of sedition -- Devin Nunes,
Kevin McCarthy, Doug LaMalfa, Jay Obernolte, Ken Calvert, Mike Garcia, and
Darrell Issa -- think they got away with it.

Courage California is flooding Congress with phone calls, demanding that
these members of Congress be held accountable -- and with your help, we'll
turn up the heat with ads and billboards calling them out publicly.

Now that President Joe Biden is in office, the Seditious Seven are back to
business as usual.

Nunes is trying to get Parler -- the extremist social media platform that
promoted hate and violence -- fully back online.(2) Issa is accusing Biden
of being divisive with the executive orders he's written.(3) Doug LaMalfa
accused Biden of trying to make America "a European socialist country,"
once again relying on the rhetoric that the right-wing extremists used in
Trump's term.(4)

But having members of Congress -- including these Seditious Seven, who
tried to overturn a democratic election and the votes of millions of
people of color -- is anything but business as usual. And they shouldn't
be allowed to sweep their crimes under the rug and return to work when
it's clear they don't believe in their constitutional duty to serve ALL of
us.

Courage California has joined with a coalition of California organizations
to remind the public and Congress that the Seditious Seven tried to
subvert our democracy with their actions. Our system relies on justice and
representatives who uphold their oaths of office, and the Seditious Seven
must go.
