John, I joined The Liberal Democrats 30 years ago because I believed in social justice, climate action, fairness and opportunity for all.

For the last 30 years, those are the things we’ve fought for day in, day out.

Across the United Kingdom, things are hard right now. The coronavirus pandemic has put people under immense pressure.

It has been a tough twelve months - not helped by how the Government have handled things.

Everyone understands it’s not easy, but the Prime Minister’s failure to take tough decisions quickly enough has made things far worse for people.

But I know we are a resilient country. And as we emerge from the pandemic, the Liberal Democrats are fighting for a better, fairer future, for all.

I want the Liberal Democrats to be on your side.

That’s why - between the lockdowns - I got out and about to listen. I heard from small business owners, nurses, teachers, parents and carers and learned what they really need.
