Dear John,

Four years ago today, thousands of New Yorkers flocked to Terminal 4 at the John F. Kennedy International Airport to demand the release of Muslims detained there because of Executive Order 13769—a ban on travel and refugee resettlement that targeted 7 Muslim-majority countries.

Lawyers set up shop in JFK, offering counsel to people who were denied entry when their flights landed, while outside, the protest against the Muslim Ban bled into the street and spread to airports across the country.

Last week, the Muslim and African Ban was repealed. For four years, the NYIC and our partners mobilized thousands of people in the fight against every single iteration of Trump’s travel ban. And today, we’re rallying in Washington D.C. because we know that executive orders are reversible—and that the Muslim Ban can never happen again.
JOIN #ALLOFUS RALLY @ NOON ([link removed])

We need Congress and President Biden to fight for ALL of us and to enshrine permanent, legislative protections for Dreamers, refugees, TPS recipients, asylum seekers, and undocumented immigrants.

We’re calling on them to pass the Roadmap to Freedom Resolution—a resolution that strengthens family-based immigration, eliminates barriers to reunification, and ends immigrant detention. Join our virtual rally ([link removed]) at 12 pm TODAY to stand in solidarity with immigrants across the country and to demand freedom for #AllofUs!

If you can’t make it, please send an email to your representatives ([link removed]) asking them to support federal legislation to reverse Trump’s anti-immigrant legacy and consider supporting our work ([link removed]) to fight for permanent protections for ALL immigrants.

We will keep standing with Muslim and African immigrants until they’re reunited with their families. We will keep standing with Dreamers, and with other undocumented people around the country, until they no longer have to live in fear of being separated from their families and communities. And we will keep fighting until all immigrants can live with dignity and freedom.
In solidarity,

Murad Awawdeh and Rovika Rajkishun
Interim Co-Executive Directors
