On Feb. 14, join the Fair Food Nation online to demand the nation’s top food delivery service companies #DumpWendys! Last November, the Student/Farmworker Alliance launched an exciting new campaign in the national Wendy’s Boycott, calling on the country’s four largest food delivery service companies – DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, and Postmates – to cut their ties with Wendy’s until the fast-food giant joins the Fair Food Program. Allies from across the country have already pledged their support for the new Deliver With Dignity campaign by calling the delivery companies and signing a fast-growing online petition urging them to stand on the right side of history and join the Wendy’s Boycott. Now, with Valentine’s Day just around the corner, the Fair Food Nation has got some serious relationship advice for DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, and Postmates: Dump Wendy’s! Here’s how you can you participate in the upcoming Deliver With Dignity Valentine’s Day of Action from the Alliance for Fair Food website: For over eight years now, Wendy’s has stood alone in the fast-food industry as the only major company to refuse to embrace the gold standard for enforceable protections against sexual assault, forced labor and other human rights abuses for farmworkers in its supply chain by joining the CIW’s award-winning Fair Food Program. The urgency for Wendy’s to join the Fair Food Program has never been greater, as the FFP offers the country’s only privately-enforceable COVID-19 safety protocols designed to combat the scourge of coronavirus infections and deaths continuing to plague farmworkers nationwide. Wendy’s unconscionable disdain for the safety and well-being of the women and men harvesting its produce is an insult to farmworkers and to conscious consumers alike — and we’re determined to put those doing business with the fast-food company on notice about the fast-food giant’s shameful behavior. Inaction, when it comes to human rights, has consequences, and the time for those consequences is now. As a part of the recently-launched Deliver With Dignity campaign, we’re calling on the nation’s top meal delivery service companies – DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, and Postmates – to leave toxic relationships behind in the new year and dump Wendy’s as a business partner this Valentine’s Day. But to make sure that message is heard from coast to coast, we need your help! Join us on Feb. 14 for a Deliver With Dignity Valentine’s Day of Action by sending a virtual Valentine to DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, and Postmates demanding they show essential farmworkers some love and call it quits with Wendy’s! Here’s how to participate: Write and decorate a Valentine’s Day-themed message on a piece of paper to DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, and Postmates urging them to support farmworker justice and #DumpWendys Take a cute selfie with your Valentine card Post it on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook (or all three!) and tag @DoorDash, @UberEats, @Grubhub and @Postmates and use #DumpWendys so we can amplify it online As you craft your Valentine, make sure to use short and direct phrases to get the message across in a clear and powerful way. And most importantly, be creative in your decoration and have fun! ♥♥♥ Coalition of Immokalee Workers (239) 657 8311 |
