Democrat,

What a difference a week makes. What a difference a president makes.

President Biden took office one week ago, and already his administration is making drastic, overdue changes to correct the many, many mistakes of the Trump Administration. One of the most egregious errors that the former president made was failing to create a national strategy for producing and distributing the COVID-19 vaccine, and the result is the shortage of doses we are now experiencing in New Jersey and throughout the country.

But the Biden Administration is hitting the ground running. The President announced yesterday that weekly vaccine production would now increase by 16% -- that won’t solve the problem, but it’s a step in the right direction and a sign that we now have a true partner in the White House who will work hand in hand with Governor Murphy to get New Jersey the support it needs.

As Governor Murphy said, New Jersey didn’t wait on the former administration. We built the  infrastructure, and we now have over 270 vaccine distribution sites, ranging from the six state mega-sites to county and local points of distribution, hospitals, and much more. All we need now is the vaccine supply to ramp up distribution. It’s great to know that we can count on President Biden to do whatever is necessary to make that happen.

For more information about the state’s vaccination programs or to sign up for an appointment if you are eligible, visit the state’s vaccine portal.
