This is refreshing to see -- it hasn't even been a week since President Joe Biden took office, and he's already making good on his promises to the American people, including:
An urgent and coordinated federal response to combat the pandemic
Extending the moratoriums on evictions, foreclosures, and student loan payments
Rejoining the Paris Climate Agreement to protect our environment and our planet
Ending the Muslim travel ban and stopping construction on the senseless border wall
This is the beginning of a new, exciting, and hopeful chapter in our country.
The first end-of-month deadline since President Biden took office is rapidly approaching. We need to seize this moment and build on it -- if you can, will you chip in before the deadline?
I'm looking forward to working with the Biden Administration and my colleagues in Congress to make sure Maryland priorities are on the forefront in Washington, get the pandemic under control, support families during this convergence of crises, take climate action and meet the goals of the Paris accord, and fight for justice for all Americans.
But we can't take anything for granted.
President Biden needs allies in Congress to make his agenda a reality and the truth is our Democratic Majority in the House is incredibly narrow. National Republicans launched fresh attacks against Democrats like me in an attempt to take back the Majority, and the attacks are only going to become more vicious from here on out.
We need to start putting in the work now to protect and expand our Majority to ensure we can help the Biden Administration advance progress for Marylanders and Americans across the country. If you can, please chip in before the end-of-month deadline.
