Brad Lander for NYC Comptroller [[link removed]]
John, we're bumping MaryKatherine's message from this morning because we just got breaking news:
Michelle Caruso-Cabrera, who ran against Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for Congress in 2020, just filed to enter the race for NYC Comptroller.
In her challenge against AOC, Caruso-Cabrera raised millions of dollars from Wall Street CEOs and other corporate interests. If she does that again, she could drown out our bold, progressive message -- which makes hitting our grassroots fundraising goals even more critical.
Can you chip in $5 to support Brad before our end-of-month deadline? Your gift will be matched 8-to-1 and send a strong message that the people of NYC want leaders who are accountable to us, not Wall Street!

Dear John,
I’m MaryKatherine, Brad’s grassroots fundraising director. I don’t usually write to you -- I spend most of my time working with our peer-to-peer grassroots fundraising team, and making sure we dot our i’s and cross our t’s on the paperwork to receive the public matching funds we’re counting on to stay competitive in this race.
But I needed to reach out today to explain how we are going to make our budget work. Right now -- despite our campaign having the support of more individual New Yorkers than all other candidates in our race combined -- we’re being outraised by our opponents, thanks to big checks from for-profit developers and Wall Street bankers.
Our end of month deadline is coming up quickly, and looking at the numbers now, we’re going to come up short of our $20,000 goal. Will you chip in $10 to help us catch up? Every $1 you give will be matched by $8 in public financing → [[link removed]]

While our opponents are taking big checks from corporate lobbyists and Wall Street bankers, Brad is running a campaign aligned with our values, accountable only to New Yorkers.
For me, investing time and money into this campaign is about making sure progressive change happens at the local level where it impacts our everyday lives most. I've watched Brad work tirelessly to confront our current crisis and I know he will use the Comptroller's office in innovative ways to rebuild our city and tackle future crises like climate change.
The only way we can get him there is if more New Yorkers chip in to be part of our team.
That’s where you come in.
We’re just 6 days away from the end of the month deadline, and at this rate, we’re going to be short of our $20,000 goal. Please chip in $10 right now to help shore up this gap so we can stay on track to get our messages out to voters! [[link removed]]
