Assault rifles have been the weapon of choice for some of the deadliest mass shootings in our country's history. And yet — even though a majority of Americans support banning these weapons of war — Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell stonewalled every single piece of life-saving legislation that hit their desks.
That's about to change. With President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris in the White House — and gun safety champions in the majority in Congress — this is the best chance we've had to ban assault weapons in over a decade.
