So much has happened in just one week.
President Joe Biden was sworn into office alongside Vice President Kamala Harris, the first Black woman and South Asian Vice President. The Senate gained three new reproductive rights champions: Reverend Raphael Warnock, Georgia's first Black senator; Jon Ossoff, Georgia's first Jewish senator; and Alex Padilla, the first Latino senator from California.
Today, I am feeling more than hopeful for the future of our movement. Despite everything we've been through this past year — a pandemic, continued racial injustice, and an attack on our democracy — we *finally* have a chance to redefine the future of reproductive freedom for every person.
The new administration supports this agenda and we're ready to work with them to make it happen.
If you're ready to get to work, add your name to our letter urging the Biden-Harris administration to protect and expand reproductive freedom.
We've set a goal of 100,000 signatures — we need to show our new leadership the strength behind our movement. Sign on now »

Here's what Planned Parenthood Action Fund (and you, if you'll join us) is urging our new leaders to do:

Reverse harmful Trump administration policies
Starting now, we need to state loud and clear that we want abortion access for all. We're encouraging President Biden to roll back the policies of the Trump administration that determine who can access sexual and reproductive health care and when, including addressing the racial disparities that exist within our health care system.
These policies — such as the global and domestic gag rules, religious refusal laws, and limits on birth control and other restrictions — are barbaric and they need to go now. |

Restore federal abortion funding
Everyone has the right to an abortion, but not everyone has the access. We're fighting for policies that make it easier to get an abortion if you need one, especially for those facing barriers to access. We're fighting for a federal budget that ends the Hyde and Helms amendments — policies that restrict the use of federal funds for abortion. |

Pass COVID-19 relief
COVID-19 is surging in our communities and doesn't show any signs of slowing down. We must pass comprehensive economic relief that prioritizes the needs of those most impacted by the crisis, especially Black and Indigenous women, and other women of color. |

Put champions of reproductive freedom in power
As we've witnessed over the past four years it *matters* who is in positions of power. That's why we're calling on the Biden administration to fill his cabinet — and our judicial system — with leaders who will put our sexual and reproductive rights and health care first. We want champions of reproductive freedom in the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare, USAID and more. One of the leaders we're proud to support is longtime reproductive health and rights advocate, Attorney General Xavier Becerra, for Secretary of Health and Human Services. |

Protect our democracy
The violent insurrection incited by President Trump at the U.S. Capitol earlier this month was a disgrace. If we want to win reproductive freedom, we must have a functioning democracy where every voice is heard. We're calling on Congress to hold the white supremacist groups accountable for their actions and we're working to make sure our democracy is protected for the long haul. |

Yes, this is *a lot.* But if the last year has taught us anything it's that you get what you fight for. While momentum is on our side, we need to be ready to fight BIG.
