By now, you’ve probably heard the news that Republican Jay Obernolte has thrown his hat into the ring to run against Chris Bubser in CA-08.

For those who don’t know, Jay is about as far-right as they come. He’s best known for being a climate science denier, an anti-vaxxer, and he staunchly opposes women’s reproductive rights. Now, Jay wants to take his extreme agenda to Washington.

But here’s the problem:

It appears Republicans are beginning to consolidate behind Jay’s campaign. That means more establishment cash and even more special interest support. All for someone who is more out of touch with this co mmunity than Rep. Paul Cook ever was. That’s bad news.

We can’t afford a far-right, radical representing this community. So in light of Jay’s surge, we set a goal of raising $20,000 before our FEC deadline to flip CA-08 from red to blue. Will you make a $10 donation toward this goal?

If Jay is the Republicans’ answer to our needs on health care access, education, and protecting our public lands -- they’re more out of touch with our community than we originally thought.
