John,

Yesterday, Joe Manchin said he wants to keep the filibuster. He also
thinks Republicans will be constructive partners:

"[Republicans] know we all have to work together. You just can't basically
be objectionable to everything just because you're in the minority now."

When Barack Obama became president, Republicans openly and blatantly said
they’d act as obstacles to progress. They haven’t stopped since. Why would
they stop now?

conservative, regressive demands of the Republican party. Donate now to
fuel our campaign to get rid of the filibuster so that Democrats can pass
progressive legislation.

Senators Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema have both said they want to keep
the filibuster. And far too many Democrats say they want to work with
Republicans to craft legislation.

But here’s what happens if Senate Democrats keep the filibuster and keep
trying to work with Republicans:

* Legislation gets weaker. When we’re facing so many crises in this
country, we need big, bold legislation, not conservative, watered-down
efforts.
* Legislation critical to justice and equity will likely fail. DC
statehood, voting rights, racial justice, and other critical issues
need 60 votes in the Senate if we keep the filibuster. Republicans
oppose these things because they threaten their power.

The filibuster has to go. And Senate Democrats must realize that
Republicans will not work with them to get justice and equity for the
people of this country.

[ [link removed] ]We’re advocating tirelessly to get rid of the filibuster. Can you
support our push with a contribution today so we can get critical
legislation passed in the Senate?

There is so much Congress must act on right away. And a lot of it relies
on getting rid of the filibuster.

In solidarity,

Justice Democrats
