REMEMBERING MICHELE EVANS
On January 1, Girls Inc. Board member Michele Evans passed away after a valiant
battle with cancer. An exemplary leader, wife, mother, daughter, and friend,
Michele devoted 34 years of service to Lockheed Martin, most recently serving as
executive vice president of Lockheed Martin Aeronautics. Michele joined the
Girls Inc. Board in November, 2019, and right away became a dedicated champion
and force for good in the Girls Inc. network.

Michele was passionate about the Girls Inc. mission to inspire girls to embrace
new worlds of possibility, including STEM. She was actively involved in Lockheed
Martin’s diversity and inclusion initiatives, serving as the executive sponsor
for the Women’s Impact Network and Leadership Forum. She was a stalwart in the
defense and aeronautics industry, shattering the glass ceiling, mentoring
hundreds across the globe, and leading by example.

We have lost a good friend and passionate ally. Michele will be remembered and
missed.
