Hi  John,

Secular Democrats of America is calling on secular Democrats to organize secular caucuses in their respective states. What do these caucuses do? They are getting out the secular vote, electing candidates at the state and local level who will champion our values, and changing the culture of the Democratic party to be more inclusive of the nonreligious and proactively supportive of separation of church and state.

There are three kickoff events taking place in Connecticut, Virginia, and Pennsylvania over the next few weeks (see below). If you live in any of these states, please consider attending these events and stepping up to run for a leadership position.

If you are a secular Democrat in Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, or Ohio, take action below to join the efforts of your fellow secular Dems who are hard at work galvanizing support for a secular caucus.

If you would like to lead efforts to start a new caucus in your state, contact Sarah Levin at [email protected][mailto:[email protected]]. You can stay informed about the progress secular Democrats are making across the country by signing up for the Secular Democrats of America newsletter here[[link removed]].

It is critical that the nonreligious—humanists, atheists, agnostics, and others—start to incorporate their secular identity and values into their political activism. To achieve the visibility necessary to solidify our secular voting bloc, we must donate to candidates, volunteer for campaigns, and run for office as openly nonreligious activists. And it all starts with you!
