It’s been quite the month. Thanks to supporters like you, we won two special elections for Virginia’s House of Delegates, keeping our full majority intact, and Democrats won two special elections in Georgia, flipping the US Senate blue for the first time since 2014. The Capitol was ransacked by a group of thugs incited by Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress. The House of Representatives impeached Trump for the second time, making him the first president ever to be impeached twice. And we inaugurated the 46th President of the United States, Joe Biden.

Needless to say, we’ve been busy (and I expect you’ve been busy too), but I wanted to take this time to introduce myself. I’m Carrie Hamiliton, the new Finance Director at the Democratic Party of Virginia. You should expect to see more emails from me in the coming months as we prepare for our elections in November.

I wanted to talk to you about the Commonwealth Unity Fund that we launched yesterday. In case you didn’t see our email, the Commonwealth Unity Fund is a program that the Democratic Party of Virginia has just started to raise money to support our eventual nominees during the general election.
