Hi John,

As we've come to expect whenever women enter positions of political authority, news headlines about Kamala Harris seem to be focusing too much on one thing: what she is wearing.

From her Converse chucks and her earrings to her coats and the way she styles her hair on any given day, we've already learned more about Kamala Harris' fashion choices than we ever knew about Mike Pence's after four years in office.

There are many reasons why: sexism, misogyny, thinly-veiled racism. The list goes on.

And yet, many also believe that clothing can express meaning and symbolism. We've seen it in Harris' use of the color purple to pay homage to the women who came before her. That's why we want to hear from you today. Do you believe a hyper-focus on Harris' dress is justified? Please, add your voice to our poll now:

Do you think Kamala Harris' fashion choices matter?

Yes   No

Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us.
