The Washington Post: "The Biden administration has ordered U.S. immigration agencies to focus their energies on threats to national security, public safety and recent border crossers, ending a four-year stretch during the Trump administration that exposed anyone in the United States illegally to deportation."
WaPo continues: "The memo is the first step in a broader plan to find a different solution for the 11 million undocumented immigrants in the United States, many of whom have lived here for years and have U.S.-citizen children. Many are essential workers -- delivery workers, caregivers, even physicians -- but Congress has not passed a major citizenship bill since 1986."
During Trump's tyrannical reign, we saw a man on a mission to demonize and disenfranchise anyone who didn't look like him -- and that included almost all immigrants, many of whom have lived in this country for DECADES.
We are beyond pleased to see that Biden is taking IMMEDIATE action against the harm that Trump has wrought on our country's most vulnerable residents. But there's still a long way to go. That's why we want to see where our supporters are at, so please tell us:
