Hi there,

Madeleine in the news.

Madeleine Dean is working hard for all Pennsylvanians!

Here's the latest:

Mad joined the other impeachment managers to deliver impeachment charge to the Senate.
Nine House managers walked across the Capitol to inform the Senate that they were ready to prosecute the former president for “incitement of insurrection.” And the Justice Department opens inquiry into an “improper attempt” by officials to overturn the presidential election.

There’s a time to mourn and there’s a time to dance. There’s a time to face the truth and then there’s a time to unify.
Dean found it to be a day of such joy as she focused on the task ahead. [...] Sure, he seeks unity for our country. But he knows that we have to remember. Mad remains an optimist, even after the Capitol attack.
I hope that this exposes that our words matter, that the words of our leaders matter, and never again will we allow someone of such basic level humanity, if this president has any, to lead us again. And I hope that the other members of Congress who stood up for this president and mouthed his lies will recognize the shame and stop.

What we learned from those we lost in 2020.
While this has been and will continue to be a year of extraordinary losses — I am certain we must use what we have learned from the heroes all around us, with every fiber of our being, to walk and work with dignity, to see the common humanity in each of us, as we work toward a more perfect union. May their memories be a blessing. What a year it has been. As we struggle with loss, despair, and sacrifice, we’re searching for hope. We lean on one another and lead with our common humanity. We have lost heroes — U.S. Rep. John Lewis, D-Ga., and U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg — whose tenacity, wisdom, and life’s work is the guiding light on the difficult path ahead. [...] The very last time I heard his voice was on a caucus call following the brutal killing of George Floyd.

Madeleine Dean: Impeachment Manager Brings Ethics Experience to Trial.
The president and many in this chamber have shamelessly peddled dangerous untruths about this election — despite the warnings of where these lies would lead. Last Wednesday, those lies and dangers found themselves inside this Capitol. This hateful rhetoric is another virus — it is time to remove its host.
