John,
Did you see Mike’s response to President Biden’s decision to reject the Keystone XL Pipeline?
Mike spoke with workers at a union hall in Kaukauna, and bluntly laid out the human cost of the President’s irresponsible and politically-motivated executive order.
Here’s what Mike had to say:
“There’s about 11,000 jobs at stake nationally. The rough estimate is 2,000 of those are Wisconsin jobs right here, and those are high-paying, quality jobs, and particularly at a time when we’re still in the midst of a devastating pandemic and people are struggling to make ends meet.” - Mike Gallagher President Biden stated the decision was based on an effort to "empower our workers and communities" and "promote and protect our public health and the environment." John, that’s just not a good enough answer and Mike made that clear in Kaukauna.
“I understand the environmental concerns. I truly do. But the fact is, as we were talking about before, this is actually a more environmentally friendly way to transport crude than through rail or through tankers.” - Mike Gallagher
For the Biden Administration, it's not about the thousands of workers that will be laid off. It’s not even really about the environment — it's about scoring political points and appeasing his political base.
I hope if you have a couple of minutes you take a listen to Mike tell the truth about the Keystone XL pipeline and what it means for Wisconsin’s economy and jobs.
Watch here.
Thank you for your time,

Subject: 11,000 jobs and $2 billion in wages disappeared overnight From: Team Gallagher
John,
President Biden didn’t waste any time getting to work yesterday on radically changing the direction that America is headed in.
Just hours into his presidency, he put his signature on 17 different executive orders, including one that ended the crucial Keystone XL Pipeline permit.
It’s a crushing blow for Wisconsin's economy, but even worse, it’s a crushing blow for the thousands of workers, families, and businesses across the Midwest and the Great Plains that have relied on the pipeline as a source of income for years.
With the stroke of a pen, over 11,000 jobs and over $2 billion in wages have disappeared overnight. In Wisconsin that means thousands of good-paying jobs on the chopping block.
John, this move isn’t just a step back for our country –– it’s a step forward for our adversaries around the globe who want nothing more than to see us fully dependent on their economies for all our energy needs.
That’s why Mike joined Republican leaders last night to urge President Biden to revoke this destructive order –– but he needs to know that you’re with him in this fight. Completing the pipeline would be a win for Americans on both sides of the aisle and is a key piece of moving America forward into a greener future.
Keystone XL has promised to invest over $10 billion into training workers and innovating technologies so that down the road it can become the first pipeline in the world to be fully powered by renewable energy –– all while keeping prices low at the gas pump.
That’s the kind of world-leading innovation we should be investing in here in America, and it’s crucial we stand up now to defend it.
Will you take a second to add your name and stand with Mike on this issue? Thank you, Team Gallagher
