Since March 23, 2020, families have been prohibited from celebrating large family activities such as Christmas, Thanksgiving, due to an order restricting gatherings with over ten people. This order has been continuously renewed by the Governor restricting the liberty and freedom of the citizens of the great state of Idaho.
Our legislators in the Idaho House of Representatives have fought for our liberty and have sought to nullify the Governor's tyrannical orders. For those that haven’t heard, HCR2 has passed the House and is now seeking the approval of the Idaho State Senate. House Current Resolution 2 would nullify Governor Little’s 10 person rule at public and private events. The Governor recently made changes to the rules on sporting events to allow 40% capacity or 4 individuals per student (depending on which is more); however, even if those changes help athletics, they do nothing for other school activities and other important gatherings.
Idahoans now is the time to contact your senators and take back your right to spend time with your loved ones. The Governor may have given some families 40% of their right to assemble back, but Idahoans deserve a full 100%. It is time to celebrate the important things in life such as birthdays, marriages, proms, and graduations. Enough important family events have been razed by Covid-related regulations, let us not miss anymore.
We encourage you to reach out to your state senator and Senate Leadership to share your view on HCR2.
