This week, President Biden made good on his promise to rejoin the Paris Climate Agreement on his first day in office, signaling to the world that the United States is committed to stepping back into a leadership role to counter the climate crisis and environmental racism.
I know I don't need to tell you how relieving it is to see our newly elected president fulfill a commitment that means the difference between a sustainable future and a continually escalating climate crisis, especially after former President Trump made the short-sighted and alarming decision to pull out of the agreement in 2017. Join me in telling President Biden you support this critical first step in committing to climate action.
While the climate crisis presents incredible challenges, combating it also creates transformative economic opportunities for job creation, scientific innovation, and meaningful investment in communities overburdened with pollution—all of which are crucial to COVID-19 relief and recovery.
In this new era, as we look forward instead of backward, tell President Biden and U.S. leadership that you're with them in the fight for climate justice. We must continue to demand a deep commitment to pursuing a 100 percent clean energy future that centers justice and equity.
In solidarity,
