Friend: Earlier this month, I cast my vote to impeach Donald Trump for the second time.

Even though he has left the Oval Office, he must be held responsible for his crimes against our republic. He used his power and dangerous rhetoric to incite a violent insurrection at the U.S. Capitol – and, in doing so, orchestrated an attack on the basic pillars of our democracy.

No one is above the law – and Congress has a responsibility to the nation to hold our president accountable. By voting to impeach, I fulfilled my duty to the Constitution. Now I'm calling on my Senate colleagues to do the same.

The Senate now has the opportunity to correct the mistake they made last year when they failed to convict the former president for his high crimes. Once again, they are faced with a choice: letting Trumpism off the hook – letting it fester and grow and seep only more deeply into the fabric of our democratic system. Or stopping that extremism in its tracks with a vote that rebukes lies, rebukes violence and rebukes unhinged attacks on our free and fair elections.

Now that the article of impeachment has been delivered to the Senate, we must stand together in solidarity once again as we work to protect our democracy. So please, before this survey expires at midnight tonight, let me know:

Do you support the conviction of Donald Trump for inciting violent insurrection?
