Yesterday, President Trump held a press conference at the UN...and called out Senators Bob Menendez, Patrick Leahy, and myself in an attempt to distract from his actions regarding Ukraine.

Here is the truth: Back in 2018, there were reports that Ukraine was considering refusing to cooperate with the Mueller investigation -- an official investigation conducted by the United States -- out of concern that President Trump would cut off aid as punishment. So in May 2018, Senators Menendez, Leahy, and I sent a public letter expressing our concerns on this matter to Ukraine’s Prosecutor General.

As it turns out, we were even more right than we knew to worry that President Trump would try to use aid to Ukraine as leverage for his political agenda.
