Moments ago, House Democrats delivered Articles of Impeachment against Donald Trump to the Senate to begin a trial.
Congress must vote to hold Trump accountable for inciting a white supremacist attack on the Capitol. That’s why we’re coming to Women’s Marchers like you to take urgent action:
It’s only been two weeks since Trump committed treason. In no uncertain terms, he incited an armed attack on the Capitol and tried to overthrow our system of government.
We cannot allow this blatant violation of the Constitution to go unpunished by the Senate. Because if they let Trump get away with this, then we’re not a constitutional democracy — we’re a failed state.
Senate Republicans are hoping the world will forget what we saw earlier this month, when armed white nationalists stormed the Capitol building on Trump’s orders. But John, here’s the thing: A growing number of Republican *voters* agree that Trump should be held accountable. In a recent poll, 62% of Americans agreed that Trump was responsible for the coup and said he should be removed by the 25th Amendment or impeachment1.
It will take a massive public pressure campaign to keep the heat on Republican senators so they can’t get away with letting Trump off the hook, which is why we’re asking every Women’s Marcher on this team to make their voice heard in this urgent moment. This is the only way to ensure Trump can never hold public office ever again, so we need everyone on this team on board.
Women are the ones who voted in a new administration, and together we can make sure we get this next job done: convicting Trump. Every signature helps amplify our demand to Republicans in the Senate.
