Hi John,

I wanted to share an update with you.

After we certified the 2020 election, I introduced a bill that will make threatening and intimidating election officials a federal crime.

At polling locations across the county, there were several accounts of armed citizens standing outside on Election Day intimidating volunteers, nonpartisan election workers, and potentially voters as well. Following the initial results, many of our election officials faced death threats for not supporting the former president's baseless claims of widespread voter fraud.

It is my view that former Attorney General William Barr failed to properly investigate these threats, so I've introduced this bill that will provide the Department of Justice with the tools and resources they need to take action to protect our democracy and those who work to uphold it.

As your representative, you can always count on me to stand up for free and fair elections.

Thank you for trusting in me to advocate for policies like this.

More soon,
Mary Gay
