Dear Poynter supporter,

You watched the occupation of the U.S. Capitol and the subsequent Inauguration in real time. Now, you can hear from photojournalist Julio Cortez of the Associated Press who was on the scene for both historic events. Cortez will share his experience reporting from the insurrection, even as his partner was being thrown over a wall at the Capitol by the angry mob. Two weeks later, he would return to the same location to cover a heavily guarded inauguration.

These sessions are free to attend and will pop-up in concert with the news cycle. We’ll bring you behind the scenes for a closer look at the best of the best in reporting today. Most sessions will include time for Q&A at the end.
