Community health centers (CHCs) serve medically underserved areas, and their patients are predominantly low-income and uninsured or publicly insured through Medicaid. CHCs are a pillar in many rural and urban communities around the US and have significant influence on the health of the surrounding population. In a June 2018 article, Megan B. Cole and coauthors report on the increases in care quality and service use at CHCs two years after Medicaid expansion.
