Joe Biden is now President of the United States. He is focused on bringing Americans together, and his first actions in office have been ambitious, as his administration works to dismantle Trump's legacy of racism and lies.
But, we cannot let calls for “unity” become an excuse for letting the instigators of the January 6 insurrection off the hook. There can be no healing without accountability.
The main organizer of the “Stop the Steal” campaign has said that three House Republicans may have helped organize the assault on the U.S. Capitol.
Congressmen Paul Gosar, Andy Biggs, and Mo Brooks allegedly “schemed up” the attack that left several people dead.[1]
Worse yet, Representative Mikie Sherrill, a former CIA analyst, says that Republican members of Congress led the attackers on a reconnaissance tour of the Capitol the day before the attack.[2]
The 14th Amendment explicitly states that anyone who has "engaged in insurrection" against the United States Constitution is disqualified from serving in the U.S. Congress.
Case closed. They must go.

The January 6 white supremacist riot was planned and organized out in the open, and these far-right members of Congress enabled the mob to seek to violently overthrow the results of a free and fair election.
Rep. Brooks told the mob about to storm the Capitol that, "Today is the day American patriots start taking down names and kicking ass! Our ancestors sacrificed their blood, their sweat, their tears... Are you willing to do the same?"
Rep. Gosar told a crowd in Arizona, while recruiting people to join the January 6 insurrection, that, "Once we conquer the Hill, Donald Trump is returned to being the president.”
We cannot allow this attack on our democracy simply to be washed away now that there’s a new administration.
We will keep pounding the drum to demand accountability for the January 6 attack because if seditionists get away with it, it will happen again. And the next time our democracy may not survive.
