WHAT NEWT'S THINKING After Surviving Cancel Culture Mob, Parler Is Rebuilding [[link removed]]

By Newt Gingrich

Parler, the social networking app, was started for two main reasons.

First, Parler’s founders wanted to compete in a free market to address the problems with their competitors at Twitter and elsewhere.

Second, Parler’s founders wanted to create a platform that allowed for the maximum amount of freedom of expression within the limits of the law.

That sounds like an innocent, even noble enterprise. Certainly not controversial, let alone a threat to American democracy.

And yet, Apple and Google removed Parler from their app stores earlier this month. Amazon quickly followed suit, kicking Parler off its cloud servers. The latter decision pushed the app offline, effectively halting its operations and posing an existential threat to the company.

This was a cancel culture mob — the same mob that is now pushing for American publishers not to sign book deals with officials who served in the Trump administration. Disturbingly, 500 authors and literary professionals signed a letter calling for this anti-American suppression.

So, what’s next for Parler? How does it rebuild? I find out on this week’s episode of my podcast, “Newt’s World.” [[link removed]] My guest is Amy Peikoff, chief policy officer of Parler.

We are approaching the edge of what will become a kind of Orwellian dictatorship, in which monopolistic companies allied with powerful politicians will silence you in the public square if you say the wrong thing. Whether Parler’s executives know it or not, they are on the front lines of the fight to prevent this from happening.

I hope you will listen to this week’s episode [[link removed]] to learn the truth about Parler, not what the media wants you to think, and to hear what to expect from the app going forward.

Frack You, Too! [[link removed]]

By Margaret Smith

While campaigning for the presidency, Joe Biden gave America whiplash from how often he flip-flopped on whether he supported banning fossil fuels or not. It turns out Biden knew all along what he wanted to do, and that most Americans would not be pleased with his plan of action. His plan was to reduce fossil fuel emissions by “ending the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline, reimposing a moratorium of coal leasing on federal lands, tightening fracking regulations on public lands… and reinstating the Interagency Working Group on the Social Cost of Greenhouse Gases,” all on his first day in office.

By Aaron Kliegman

Shortly after the inauguration last Wednesday, Biden signed a slew of executive orders, one of which should be of particular concern to women.

The order is well intentioned and meant to prevent and combat “discrimination on the basis of gender identity or sexual orientation.” But as with many well-intentioned policies, there are damaging results — in this case, the erosion and delegitimization of women’s sports.

It only took a few hours in office for President Joe Biden to show how woke he is.
