Please take immediate action and e-mail the legislature (instructions below) to let them know you support LR22CA, a critical property tax reform measure. Supported by Governor Ricketts, this measure will:
- maintain local control while limiting the growth of property taxes by capping increases on local property tax increases.
- put a 3% annual limit on the growth of property taxes with allowances for growing communities.
This legislation is one of the missing keys of property tax reform and will keep spending in check. There are over 2,500 units of local government with thousands of individuals making decisions. Over the last 10 years, property taxes have grown over 4.5% annually. This growth rate is unsustainable for family budgets.
