Steve Descano is the Democratic nominee for Commonwealth's Attorney for Fairfax County and Fairfax City. He's a former federal prosecutor and US Army veteran with a platform to improve our criminal justice system. Steve is guided by the progressive values of community, equality and justice. As Commonwealth’s Attorney, Steve will work to root out systemic discrimination and create a criminal justice system that works for everyone. This includes ending cash bail, stopping the prosecution of simple marijuana possession, and improving transparency and accountability of the office.
Steve Descano is endorsed by Attorney General Mark Herring, the top law enforcement official in the Commonwealth of Virginia, as well as all three Members of Congress for Fairfax County, and has the unwavering and full support of the Fairfax County Democratic Committee. His opponent, on the other hand, is a Republican running as an Independent. Don't be fooled - the "independent" candidate for Commonwealth's Attorney is a former a Trump appointee who sought and received the endorsement of the Fairfax County GOP.
