Hi Friend,
My mom talks about how when she met my dad it took her a while to be sure about him.
She talks about bringing him home to Alaska the first summer they were together. She showed him where she grew up, the chicken spot her grandpa always took her to with the best milkshakes, and the grocery store she walked to with her brothers when her parents didn’t come home for days at a time. The mountains that stood beside her as she fell asleep each night. [[link removed]]
She introduced him to the most important parts of herself that summer: the parts that made her wake up in the morning and decide to keep going, the people she wanted to help, and the land she wanted to protect. It took her a while to be sure of my dad, but she never had a doubt about Alaska.
My mom is going to be Alaska’s first Congresswoman, and she is going to change this state and country for the better. [[link removed]]
