Unbelievable, friend: One of the masterminds behind the Republican gerrymandering efforts in Michigan now admits that the maps he helped draw fueled extremist politics in the GOP and contributed to the rise of Donald Trump.

Here at the NDRC, we've been sounding the alarm about gerrymandering's potential to fuel extremism in politics for years. Some of the most radical members of the Republican Party, like Jim Jordan, Dan Crenshaw, and others, feel safe saying whatever they want because they never have to worry about serious opposition in a general election due to gerrymandering.
In fact, voter suppression, misinformation, and gerrymandering all share the same anti-democratic DNA: These are tools that a minority political party has been deploying for years to hold onto its power.
With redistricting beginning this year in states all over the country, there's never been a more urgent moment to stay involved in the fight for fair maps. This is our opportunity to stop Republicans from drawing themselves into unearned majorities for the next decade and hold them accountable for their plan to subvert the will of the people -- and it's too important to pass up.
If you're able, please pitch in now to help us keep up our work and WIN the fight for fair maps:
