Friend,
As we continue to celebrate our resilience and power, and because we no longer have a white supremacist as our president — I want to keep us grounded and acknowledge our emotions.
The last four years have been painful and traumatic. But we also found strength, hope, and joy in community. As soon as Trump attacked us, we responded: “We are here to stay!” We trained thousands of people on how to fight the deportation machine and every time DACA was attacked, we shouted “Home is Here!” and we won at the Supreme Court.
In 2017 after Trump killed DACA, passing a clean Dream Act became our movement's number one political priority. Thousands of young leaders from across the country took action by driving calls to congress, organizing school walk-outs, and taking over Washington, DC to urge congress to protect immigrant youth.
In 2019, we rallied in Oklahoma to #CloseTheCamps and PERMANENTLY shut down an immigrant concentration camp that was about to open.
On Nov 12th, 2019 the day of the US Supreme Court hearing on DACA, thousands rallied and marched for hours outside SCOTUS to support DACA recipients and our entire immigrant community. #HomeisHere and we won when SCOTUS sided with immigrant youth.
Our power and resilience are undeniable. We are committed to holding the Biden administration accountable and we will not stop until our immigrant communities are protected. We’ve seen that when we come together, change is not just possible, it’s inevitable.
Our work is far from over. If you’re ready to make more history with us, join us in our demands to call on the Biden Administration and Congress to take bold and progressive action that protects immigrants.
